Q. 1 Where should I send application form / Data filled in form?
Ans Application form / Data filled in form is not required to be sent. After the Online Test, if you are intimated that you have been short listed for interview, you would be required to carry the signed Data filled in form along with you and produce while appearing for interview.
Q. 2 Should I send the NPCIL copy of Bank Challan?
Ans The NPCIL copy as well as Applicant copy of Bank challan should be retained by the candidate till asked for.
Q. 3 Should I send the copies of certificates / documents regarding my qualification, caste, disablement etc?
Ans No
Q. 4 Whether I am required to appear for the online test for 7 days i.e. from 16th April, 2012 to 22nd April, 2012?
Ans No. You are required to appear only on one day.
Q. 5 At what time am I required to appear for the test?
Ans Admit card will provide the information related to your date of test, time and venue etc.
Q. 6 I am ME/M.Tech, Can I apply?
Ans No. Only Full Time BE/B.Tech/B.Sc Engineering Applicants are eligible to apply
Q. 7 In my Degree Course, only CGPA / GPA / SGPA or letter grade has been awarded in place of percentage of marks. Can I enter the grade in my application?
Ans Applicants, who have been awarded CGPA / GPA / SGPA or letter grades, should follow the conversion table of the Institute / College / University from wherever they have passed. Applicants called for interview will be required to produce the authenticated conversion table from the Institute / College / University. If not, standard formula provided by AICTE will be applied to derive the percentage of marks.
Q. 8 I have appeared for my final Semester / Year Examinations and the results are yet to be announced. Am I eligible to apply?
Ans Yes. However, Applicants selected and offered traineeship would be required to submit the final results on or before 30th November 2012.
Q. 9 I have submitted my application online, but have forgotten the Registration Number and also did not take a print out of the data filled form. What do I do?
Ans You may check your e-mail. After registration, an e-mail will be sent to each applicant along with the registration number and name. Data filled in form will be required at the time of Interview only, if shortlisted for the same.
Q. 10 How can I check the status of my application?
Ans You can click "Applicant's Login" menu and check the status of your application on this website by entering your relevant details.
Q. 11 Can I send a Cheque / DD in lieu of the Bank Challan?
Ans No. Payment of application fee through Bank Challan only is acceptable.
Q. 12 I am a SC/ST/OBC Applicant but don't have the caste certificate. Can I apply as a General Applicant?
Ans If you so desire, you may apply stating your category as "General", if eligible for General category. In such an event, your candidature will be considered as "GENERAL" and no change in category shall be allowed at a later date. No relaxation / concessions will be applicable to you.
Q. 13 I am working in a Govt / Public Sector Company. Should I enclose an NOC from my employer at the time of applying for the Online Test?
Ans Applicants presently employed in Central / State Govt departments, PSUs, Autonomous bodies and called for interview would be required to submit No Objection Certificate at the time of reporting for Interview.
Q. 14 Will any travel expenses be paid to me for attending the Online Test?
Ans You have to attend the Online test at your own expense.
Q. 15 I have already opted for a City for Online Test. Can I change the City now?
Ans Before submitting your application, you have to think and decide carefully about the City and provide three preferences for your Online Test. No change of City preferences will be permissible at a later stage.
Q. 16 Explain 'Application Fee'.
Ans A non-refundable application fee of Rs.250/-(Rupees Two Hundred and Fifty Only) is chargeable from the applicants in General and OBC categories. The bank charges Rs.20/-(Rupees Twenty Only) is also to be borne by the applicant. Women Applicants and the Applicants belonging to SC/ST, Dependents of Defence Personnel Killed in Action (DODPKIA) and Persons With Disability are exempted from payment of application fee.
Q. 17 I have studied AMIE. Am I eligible to apply against this advertisement?
Ans For the post of Executive Trainee, qualifications prescribed stipulate full time degree in Engineering. In view of this, AMIE qualification does not fulfil prescribed requirement and as such, you are not eligible to apply.
Q. 18 I have already given my options for Dates for Online Test. Can I change the same now?
Ans Before submitting your application, you have to think and decide carefully about the Dates and provide your preferences for your Online Test. No change of preference of Dates will be permissible at a later stage.
Q. 19 What is the syllabus for the NPCIL ET-2012 online test?
Ans The online Test for recruitment of ET-2012 in NPCIL will be on respective core Engineering Discipline only, which has been opted by the applicant.
Q. 20 How will the centres and dates be allotted for the Online Test?
Ans The centres and dates will be allotted on a first-come first –serve basis as per the registration.
Q. 21 I have not received a SMS when I completed my registration. Why?
Ans If the mobile number you have registered is in the TRAI NCPR list (formerly called DND), you will not receive SMS alerts related to the registration. Also SMS alerts will be sent to you only between 9 AM and 9 PM. If you want to receive future SMS alerts from NPCIL related to recruitment of ET-2012, please remove your mobile number from the NCPR list through your service provider.
Q. 22 I have filled in online application for ET-2012. Is there any chance my application not being considered?
Ans Correctly filled applications will not be normally rejected. How ever, it should be ensured that:
a. Multiple applications with same details are not filled in.
b. Only proper information is entered.
c. Bank/Payment details are filled correctly/accurately.
